![]() ![]() However, just recently a kickstarter ( ) was successfully raised under 45 minutes to help revive the series with production of the 7th book, The Serpent King's Domain. If you're playing through them normally, you probably won't get anywhere near this level unless you get to know the world better and have good luck on your side. Note: This is an extremely overpowered character that I played for the sake of exploring every option and choice in the game, saving only the best routes and hence ending up with a super successful character having almost covered every bit of the first 6 books. Then you simply start playing from there. Book 1 is the easiest, increasing in difficulty down the line till Book 6, but your character will start with better stats if you enter the world in a later book. This app includes all the artwork from the original gamebook, too. This is how the app looks like, and also a peek at how the game works. Since then, someone has written a program that let's you play through the gamebooks on the computer: Production was cancelled decades ago due to the falling market for gamebooks. Sadly, only the first 6 of the 12 books have been written. Your adventure doesn't end until you die without possible ressurection. The dangers within are real, any wrong move or reckless bravery and you could find yourself severely injured, trapped, warped, or even dead (but hey, they have a resurrecting system so it isn't always the end). ![]() Each of the 12 books cover a specific region of the world, if you move out of that region, you simply move over to a different book and continue playing. You travel and explore anywhere you like, take on any quest you fancy, or explore the dangerous oceans on your very own ship. The one big thing that differentiates this series from every other gamebook series (and also why it is my favourite) is the fact that this series is played in an open world, with no main story line to follow. Just wondering how many you know/played/love this gamebook series?įor those who don't know (and are interested), the Fabled Lands is a 12-book open RPG style gamebook.
